Sorry for the delay...but let's continue with my great trip to Indianapolis with my Mom to visit not only dear relatives but also dear friends of mine!
This kid is just amazing. All I needed to say was, "Hey, Parker....smile!" and Parker woud strike a pose as if he was a veteran model! ha I'm talkin' 2.5 years old! ha A lady who was leaving the cafeteria said bye to him and this amazing young boy gave her a wink that caused her to stop in her tracks, laugh, and continue talking to him as he continued to wink at her! ha I'm SURE that if Parker's parents got him into modeling/acting....this kid would be amazing! :) Just sayin'! ha
Like I said....you need only let Parker know that you're about to take his photo and...WA-LA... he strikes a pose! ha He parents say they did NOT teach him this! I say...this kid is a natural and should be in showbusiness! ha
Okay....I think I've established just how cute this kid is! ha So now we progress to a visit with my dear Chinese friends (currently living in downtown Indianapolis). Tracy and Hua have two adorable daughters (Amy, 3 years old, and Audrey, 2 months old) and right now....Tracy's parents have arrived to help her take care of their granddaughters as Tracy will soon be heading of to law school! :)
This is Tracy's mother making pork/cabbage dumplings in Indianapolis! To give you some background....I first met Tracy's parents when I traveled to China in December, 2005 and then attended Tracy's wedding in Datong, China on January 1, 2006! :) I then traveled with Tracy's mother (Tracy remained in Datong with her newly-wedded husband, Hua) back to Tracy's hometown, Changchun! Since that great visit I have visited Changchun twice more...and also stayed at Tracy's parents' home...and they are such gracious hosts! :) The first time I stayed with them thay made noodles upon my arrival and then a great dumpling meal upon my departure (which is a Chinese custom). So you can imagine that I was thrilled that they made such wonderful dumplings for me when my mother and I visited them in Indianapolis! :) Here's some more dumpling making photos! :)
I really love this photo! It appears as if my mother is having a great conversation with Tracy's mother...truth is....they could not understand each other at all! The wonderful dishes, however, transcended communication! :)
This is Amy...3 years old...eating a delicious bread-encrusted green bean! :) Tracy's parents knew how much I loved the breaded green beans in China so they re-created this dish just for me! :) Absolutely delicious!
